Smart Music Education creates and delivers its own music workshops, led by experienced professional musicians and qualified educators. Sessions are carefully planned, interactive and musically rich, offering meaningful learning experiences that support both pupils and teaching staff. How do we choose the right workshop for our setting?
Our workshops are designed to support National Curriculum music objectives and can also enhance wider learning and enrichment activities. Whether you are looking for rhythm and ensemble work, composition, music technology or listening-focused sessions, we are happy to advise. Are workshops suitable for different ages and abilities?
Yes. All workshops are fully adaptable and can be delivered across a wide age range. Activities are differentiated so younger pupils engage with simple musical ideas, while older pupils explore more advanced rhythms, structures and techniques. Sessions can be tailored for EYFS through to KS4.
Is there a performance or sharing element?
Many workshops include the option of a sharing or performance element at the end of the day. This allows pupils to celebrate their learning and experience the excitement of performing together, either in class groups or as a larger ensemble.
What space and practical arrangements are needed?
We usually work best in a school hall or large clear space, though we are happy to adapt to your setting where possible. We typically require nearby parking to unload instruments and equipment. Comfortable clothing is recommended for practical music-making.
How long do workshops last?
We can do half day or whole day workshops, depending on requirements and numbers. In a whole day, we can fit 8 classes (around 240 pupils) with each workshop lasting 30-45 minutes, depending on how the school day is run.
Who will facilitate my workshop?
Your workshop will be facilitated by one of our DBS checked and fully-trained workshop leaders. For some workshops, there may be two facilitators.
Where do you operate?
We offer workshops throughout the UK. We will add travel and, if necessary, accommodation, to your quote.
What happens after we make an enquiry?
Once you contact us with your preferred workshop and dates, we will work with you to tailor the day to your needs. We confirm arrangements in advance and stay in touch to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day of delivery.
How does payment work?
Payment is required two weeks in advance of the workshop taking place. An invoice will be issued once your booking is confirmed, with full payment due ahead of delivery to secure your date.
How much does a workshop cost?
Costs vary depending on the workshop type, number of sessions and group size. We aim to provide excellent value, often working out at just a few pounds per child. All quotes include delivery, travel, equipment and resources.
